Own it in your own name
Thai law allows foreigners to own condominium units freehold, as long as the building's foreign quota is respected. Here is what you need to know.
The 49% foreign quota
Up to 49% of the total saleable area of a condominium building can be owned by foreigners on a freehold basis. Our team will confirm current foreign-quota availability for your unit.
Funds from abroad
Payments for a foreign-quota unit must be transferred into Thailand from overseas in a foreign currency, in the buyer's name, with the purpose stated as purchase of a condominium unit.
Foreign Exchange Transaction form
The receiving Thai bank issues a Foreign Exchange Transaction (FET) form or a bank certificate for your transfers. These documents are required by the Land Office to register the freehold title in your name.
Thai quota units
Thai nationals and Thai companies can purchase under the Thai quota. Ask our team about the options that fit your situation.
